     For it’s a hero’s journey into a foreign land

By fighting all one’s dragons the treasure can be found

     Often the survivors teach us what’s profound



One must restore wholeness whenever strife is rife

     The mind creates great tension as it cuts life like a knife

But we are all bound to life like a husband…

How about something terse? Say it in verse!

I relish how insane I am,

A seething mess of verse,

Which overflows an inner dam,

To make a poem quite terse.

Spirit Visions Part 1

Why we believe what we believe

I'm investigating the need for certainty, the way people take what they think they know to the next level. I just read an article about a recent study at the University of Michigan in which they found that when confronted with facts, most people won't change their mind, but will actually assert their mistaken assumption with more vigor. I find this to be especially true in talking with people about spiritual experiences or religion. Often the need for certainty far outweighs the factual basis.… Continue
